Payment Policy
At Monairre, we want every step of your purchase — from browsing to checkout — to feel as considered as the products themselves. This Payment Policy explains how payments work on monairre.com, which methods we accept, and how your information stays protected.
Accepted payment methods
We accept the following payment methods at checkout:
- American Express
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
- Mastercard
- Shop Pay
- Visa
- Union Pay
Available methods may vary slightly depending on your region and device.
Currency and pricing
Prices on monairre.com are shown in your local currency where supported. Orders shipped to Ireland are charged in euro (EUR), and orders shipped to the United Kingdom are charged in pound sterling (GBP).
All prices include applicable taxes. If you pay with a card or account held in a different currency than your order, your bank or card provider may apply their own exchange rate and a small conversion fee. These conversion costs are set by your bank, not by Monairre, and we recommend checking with them if you have questions about the exact amount on your statement.
When you are charged
The full amount of your order is authorised and charged at the moment you place your order. You will receive an order confirmation by email shortly after — if it doesn't arrive within a few minutes, please check your spam folder before contacting us.
Pre-authorisation holds
In some cases, your bank may place a temporary pre-authorisation hold on your account before the payment is fully captured. This is a standard banking practice and means the funds are reserved, not yet taken. The hold is automatically released by your bank, usually within 1–5 business days, depending on their internal processes.
If a payment fails but you still see a hold on your account, this is your bank holding the amount temporarily — it will be returned to your balance without any action needed from us.
Strong Customer Authentication (3D Secure)
To protect you against unauthorised use of your card, payments on monairre.com are secured by 3D Secure authentication, in line with PSD2 (EU) and UK Strong Customer Authentication regulations. During checkout, your bank may ask you to confirm your purchase through their app, by SMS, or with a biometric check. This is a normal and required step — not a sign of a problem with your order.
Payment security
Your security is something we take seriously, not as marketing language.
- All transactions on monairre.com are processed over an encrypted SSL connection.
- Payments are handled by PCI-DSS compliant payment providers.
- Your full card details are never stored on our servers — they pass directly between your bank and our payment processor.
- We continuously monitor for unusual activity and may reach out to verify your details if something looks off, before processing your order.
Failed payments
If your payment doesn't go through, the most common reasons are:
- Billing details that don't exactly match what your bank has on file
- Insufficient funds or a card limit
- A bank block on international or online purchases
- A 3D Secure check that wasn't completed in time
If you run into a problem at checkout, double-check your billing address and card details, try an alternative payment method, or contact your bank to confirm the payment isn't being blocked on their side. If the issue continues, email us at support@monairre.com and we'll help you sort it out personally.
Refunds
If you're eligible for a refund, the amount will be returned to the original payment method used at checkout. Processing times depend on your bank but typically take 7 business days to appear on your statement. For full details on returns and refund eligibility, please see our Refund Policy.
